ACCEPTING FALL ITEMS SEPT. 2ndHow to ConsignNew Enuf has grown a lot over the past 7 years and I’m happy about that. I’m thankful to all of you who have told friends and family about my shop. Word of mouth is definitely working. In order to handle the volume of clothing more efficiently, I need to make some minor changes to the consignment procedure. If you’re one of my consignors who donate unaccepted items, then this change won’t affect you at all. If you DO want your unaccepted items back, then you need to call ahead to see what hours I will be at the shop on the day you wish to come in. That way I will be able to look through your items right then. Otherwise you’ll need to return within 7 days to pick up unaccepted items or I will donate them. Due to lack of space, I can’t store them. Trash Bags Are Not AcceptableThis season I am not going to accept clothing that is brought in trash bags. If you’re serious about selling your items then please take the time to make them attractive to a buyer. If you need hangers I’ll be happy to give you enough to bring your clothes in on. I don’t want your hangers. I want the clothes neat. The women who make the most money are the ones who follow these guidelines. Of course, shorts and tank tops, even t-shirts can be folded neatly in a laundry basket or box, but blouses, skirts and slacks arrive in much better condition if they’re folded over a hanger. Dust off your shoes and clean the dirt off the bottom. Sandals with dirty foot prints in them are not appealing. Clothes are no different than anything else you try to sell. You need to clean it up before you present it to the public. Age is as important as condition. You may have a very good quality item in excellent condition but if it’s outdated, then it isn’t going to be easy to sell. I have to limit consignments to what sells best and newer styles appeal to more buyers. Please don’t take offense to this, it’s just good business sense to carry what sells the best. You will receive 50% of the selling price. You may request an inventory list of your account. I’m computerized so all records are current. You can also call to inquire about the status of your account at any time. I offer “on-the-spot” pay-outs rather than once a month checks. Stop in or call anytime. I will mail a check upon request if your balance is $20 or more. Your items will be displayed for 60 days. After approximately 30 days, it will be reduced by 25%. After 45 days, there will be a 50% markdown. If you intend to pick up unsold items then keep track of your 60 day point because you’ll need to contact me to arrange pick-up or donation will be automatic after 70 days. I use charities that give clothes to the needy. They don’t sell them. If you have specific questions or concerns, please call me at (513) 897-3683. |
